Discovering POTENZA
My path to POTENZA began at a career fair organized by General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, where I am currently an undergraduate student. During the fair, I had the opportunity to meet the POTENZA team, and I was thrilled to be invited for an interview. What stood out to me was their unique approach instead of a traditional interview, I was assigned a data engineering project as an assignment. This experience provided me with a valuable introduction to the field and set the stage for what was to come.

From the very beginning of my internship at POTENZA, I realized that I had entered a supportive and enriching environment. Prior to my internship, I had limited familiarity with data engineering. However, my supervisor played a crucial role in my development, recommending Power BI courses and various resources to guide me.
In just three months, I have acquired practical knowledge in several key tools and technologies, including:
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Advanced Power BI
- Power Automate
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Working on client projects has also been an eye-opening experience, allowing me to apply my skills in real-world scenarios and gain a deeper understanding of the industry.
